Who should play who?
Ruth Younger- I personally think that Halley Berry would make a perfect Ruth. Halley Barry's perfomances over the years has proved that her ability is very flexible. Halley would fit the exterior and interior characteristics well. Ruth is in her 30's but her personality makes her seem older. Halley's performance in certain movies like swordfish and die another day proves she can make a good distressed female roll.
Travis Younger- I think Jayden Smith would be the ideal Travis Younger. Even though Jayden has not been in the film industry for long, his preformance in "The Pursue of Happiness" proved to me he has to take this spot. Travis enjoyed the company of his friends and when he went home didn't even have a been to come home to. In "The Pursue of Happiness", that was Jaydens exact roll.
Walter Lee Younger- I had a hard time choosing who to take the role of Walter, but i finally came to conclusion and Danny Glover seemed to play the roll well in my mind. Danny's performance in "Lethal Weapon" made me want to believe that he could play a character we want to entrust with our lives, but he has the talent to be very diverse in his characters. Danny has the talent to seem very worried and uneasy and that fits very well into the part were Walter looses all the money.
Beneatha Younger- Jennifer Freeman from my wife and kids just seemed right for this role. i honestly cant say why but it just feels right. Jennifer also is in her 20's and i believe she can play a very insecure and seem to be lost in herself even though i've only seen her in "My Wife and Kids".
:Lena Younger- Nobody could play this roll better than Opera. She is a very headstrong person and has the ability to touch people. She is a very caring and emotional person just like Lena. Opera seems like a moraly good person and seems to want only good for the world. Even in the movie, "The Color Purple", she played a good heavy black woman in the struggle. Also other than the personality, if Lena was real sh'e look exactly like Opera.
Joseph Asagai- Joseph is a very polite, respectable, and charismatic person very much like Djimon Hounsou. Other than that he is Nigerian. He shows all these characteristics in movies like "Blood Diamond", "Push", and "Never Back Down".
George Marchinson- Wesley Snipes' skills as an actor would suit George well. In the movie, "New Jack City", he plays a drug lord that dresses very well and he also shows to be verry arrogant just like George in movies like, "New Jack City", "Hard Luck", "White Men Can't Jump", and "Chaos".
Karl Linder- Nobody can play this role except Edward Norton. His character can be extremely different from one another. In "American History X", he reminded he how racist he could be, but at the same time, watching movies like "Fight Club" his softer alter-ego in the movie proves that he has the ability to act subtle and mellow but get his point across. From just the look at his face he seems like he would be the "nice" guy and wouldnt mean to seem any harm.
Bobo- Bobo was probably the hardest person to find an actor to. I wanted to find someone that was a slick, very convincing actor and i couldnt think of anyone. The closest person that could possibly fit that description could be Samual Jackson. Just the fact that he looks like a sketchy guy. He seems like a scary person to do business with and if you saw him on the street, you would think he was up to no good.
